hi guys,i am putting lt and a cat back next week and i already have a 3600vig stall,i bought race version of pacesetter so no more a.i.r and egr.so i need a tune,i heard some poeple talking about mail in tune,my car is a 98z28.where can i get that and is it wort it or should i go on the dyno..... it's a street car with a small shot of nos. thanks !
I wouldnt go mail order with nitrous...hopping onto the dyno can be a bit expensive to unless you can strike up a deal with a shop or something...its usually like $500 or so... Your best bet might be to find someone who has hp tuners that can help you out...maybe sell you 2 credits to do your car
where are you located? and when do you need this tune done by?
Don't cheap out when it comes to dealing with nitrous. Hit the dyno as things change in a hurry when using nitrous. You run the chance of going too lean and having too much timing in the motor and boom, good bye motor. When using nitrous you have to richen up the afr and take out timing so best to hit the dyno and have a custom tune done. As far as someone selling you credits, you buy the credits from HPTuners directly via email with your plastic which would be 2 credits which would cost you $100 just for the credits. Always use someone that has experience with what your looking for.

exactly, you can damage a motor real fast with nitrous if your not careful... except when I said see if he can get someone to sell him credits, I meant that some guys dont want to fork over the $600+ for hp tuners...but if he could find someone with hp tuners that will let him use it and just charge him 100$ for the two credits he uses...he could go about tuning the car that way...it's a cheaper alternative.
Like personally for me I don't have a problem letting someone borrow my hp tuners for more or less the cost of the credits they use and a returnable deposit to make sure I get it back... except right now is not a good time because I'm trying to juggle exams, getting my tune dialed in, and I got the stall being installed probably around the 27th of this month that I will need to tune for as well...
tanks guys,im in montebello quebec, that's about 1hr from ottawa.so i think that i am going to try to go on the dyno. thanks for your response.and by the way i am keeping everyting cause we never know if someday it would need e test .
