STS LS2 Build on 1998 Z28 Camaro
For the past couple months we've noticed small oil drips under the turbo (coming from the silicone coupler from turbo to boost tubing). We also have found oil in the intake tubing and throttle body.
Leaning towards the Turbonetics 11760-BB turbo journal bearings/internals being shot I set out to remove the turbo.
There was quite a bit of oil int he air filter/compressor wheel side of the turbo from exhaust gasses forcing oil through the turbo and into areas where it shouldn't be.
I"ll figure out a replacement turbo over the winter and will hopefully get this beast up and running again for 2025 summer season.
Here is a short clip of the turbo coming off and going into winter slumber:

So after a bit more trouble shooting we are leaning towards a failed STS Scavenge Pump which is many many years old.
We reached out to Marc at TurboWerx to source an Exa Pump heavy duty Scavenge Pump replacement.
With a little fabrication, time and patience I was able to get everything sorted out.
For DIY Garage Home Mechanics here is the 1 min 47 second video showing the install (36 separate clips/steps).
While making a bit more noise than the STS one, now that this is installed, you can feel the quality and would be easy to replace if the time comes.

Finally got the beast running....some oil leaks near turbo I have to take care of but running.
Here is an exhaust clip of the Camaro without an exhaust starting (rough idle), then a video of the turbo compressor spinning under idle, exhaust sound at the turbo no muffler and the car starting with a muffler on.
