Auto Insurance
What insurance company is everyone using? I pay almost $2400 a year for insurance on my TransAm which seems crazy considering the car gets driven for less than 7500km a year and is stored in a secure heated garage the rest of the time. I have a clean driving record.
I have looked into Hagerty but they will not allow me to take the car on vacation or away from home overnight and that is when I get the most enjoyment out of the car.
I understand the car hobby is not a cheap one but I just feel like the insurance company is putting it to me.

hagerty/lant insurance blows...they tried to convince me that you need collision insurance in order to be insured (you only legally need liability) then they tried to tell me that without collision, if someone ever hit you and damaged your car and it was THEIR fault, you wouldn't receive any money for your car, which is also BS. Collision only covers if you damage your own vehicle.
Then they told me that it "sounded like I was just shopping for the lowest insurance rate"....well no **** you don't say?!? ...actually I was hoping I'd be able to get a deal on brain surgery and car insurance at the same time...maybe they can correct the aneurysm they gave me while I was talking to them...

Hagerty quoted me $540/year for the Camaro. It comes with a lot of restrictions though (need a regular daily driver, must not use the car for anything other than basically cruising and meets) and $2000 deductable.
Ill likely go back with them, had them with my Mustang before.

I'd go crazy with restrictions. No restriction set at 25k km a year. It's Belairdirect. My home isurance is with them too, get multi car discount + home discount.

I looked into Hagerty and there restrictions won't work for me. I take the car on a road trip at least once a year and hope to do Hotrod Dragweek with it in 2015 and they won't cover it when it is away from home.
The trouble I run into is that my other vehicle is a company vehicle and there for I get screwed. When I had 4 vehicles in my name it was under $1000 a year.
