MSD problem
MSD problem Installed msd on a 6.0 conversion in 72 el camino. Worked great at first but low side rev limit stoped working. I have 12v to blue wire off of trans brake. Anyone else had problems?
I didn't have a problem with the rev limit but I did have my box go up in smoke. I had been driving the car for a couple of weeks after a new build. Went to back out of the driveway and the car quit and smoke started rolling out of the 6010. The wiring was fine and I had changed nothing. MSD sent me a new box free but it took about 3 weeks. I bought a 6010 to use so I wouldn't have to wait. Now I use the one from MSD as a back up. There have been some reliability issues with these boxes.
Back to your issue, I would double check your wiring just to be sure. And check the voltage to the blue wire with the transbrake engaged to make sure you are getting the full 12v there. If it all checks good send it back to MSD and they should take care of it if its less than 1 year old and you have the receipt.
