Default timming

What are most of you guys running as far as timing on motor? I have a stock cube ls1 with comp cam and trickflow heads. Everytime i tell someone i am running 36 dropping to 34 they say its to much timming.

Timing.

Okay, how do your plugs look? Any signs of detonation? What size carburetor? How soon does your timing come in to full advance? My engine ran best at 30-31 total timing.

You can peak at most people's setups here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/carburete...-database.html

Pro systems 830 carb. Plugs looked good. Timing at 36 -2000 and drops to 34 at 4500. If i take any timing away from it it slows down.

You must be talking to EFI guys. Look through that database. Carbs seem to be happy running more advance than EFI.

Some of them are guys with carb set ups. If i drop mine to 29 or 30 it does not run good at all. I have not tried to drop the timing with the new carb but the old one liked it about 34 or 35.

Im pulling 7* out for a 140 shot and it looks like the timing mark is not close to the bend.
