Quick Ignition
Quick Ignition I'm about to have my engine/trans back in the car and I've never heard my engine start up and run. So my question is when I get it back in the car, how can I wire up an ignition just to get it started and run for a bit?
I'll have to have a switch connected to the fuel pump as well right? and how do I wire up the 6010?
My car is completely stripped of wire and I haven't got my actual harness wired in yet.

Follow the instructions that come with the ignition. You need to hook up the crank and can sensor, coils and then ground to the block, 12 volts to the ignition, make sure it is 12 volts that does not drop while starting and can be switched off so the engine can cut power. The fuel pump needs power while running and a bit before just to prime the carb.
The 6010 box is completely plug and play. It might take all of 5 minutes to hook up the harness.
If all you want to do is a 5 minute turn over then just jumper the power wire straight to the battery and a ground wire to the block/chassis.
As for the stock key it should be pretty basic to find a switched power wire with a wiring diagram. Most cars have have some type horn relay or main power relay the turns off when the key is off. Just wire it into that.
