Default Plug gap?

Hey guys, I was wondering what I need to set my plug gap at? I currently have NGK TR6 plugs. They were with the engine when I got it, and looked pretty new with no sign of fouling so I just kept them. The biggest issue was they were all gapped different. It was like whoever installed them just opened up the box and stuck them in. I think I gapped them all at .045. Is that good or should I change it?

I'm asking the question here since my setup is carbed, and I figured there's a chance that the plug gaps may be a tad different between EFI and carb setups.

Also, I have a stock LS1 with a 232/240 .580.580 110LSA +2 adv cam. Would a hotter plug be beneficial? If so what would be recommended?

Stock gap is .060, but usually they put them at .045 and then as the gap increases you're still good, just be careful when gapping if they are platinum bc you can scratch the material on the tip and screw them up pretty easy...

Most guys run .040" to .045" with the MSD set up. I have run both Tr5 and Tr6 plugs with no problems. Tr6s show a little less heat in the electrode, and the Tr5 stay a little cleaner longer for me.
