really high timing help

i run my car all last season with 44 degrees of timing.i feel like that is to high but when the car was on a wheel dyno it made best power at 44. what i would like to know is what different things would cause the timing to be so high?

setup
ls2 block stock bore and stroke +12cc dome
sdparts ls3 cnc heads
gmpp single plane with 1050 demon
kooks 1 7/8th headers
pat g custom cam 235/243 610/627 110ls 108cl
i did run 110 oct all season too

any help and advice is appreciated thanks guys

Have you marked TDC on the damper, and with a pointer and timing light, verified that MSD timing #'s are correct?

is there anyway to check to make sure the sensor is working properly?or should i just buy a new one?

What sensor? What's your compression ratio? Are you sure those pistons are domed and not dished?

crank and cam sensor and i am sure the pistons are dome because i built the motor myself.compression is around 13.2:1
