I want to start off by saying this was a great read and i am finally happy to see some technology head the carb way.
Are there plans to let us see a before and after? What changes were done after and if the car picked up?

IGN-8 = 1 "m"Bit Logger
Yes, I agree, to "log" a carb application will allow the BEST tune.
My method is to fit an IGN-8 with board mounted MAP sensor.
The IGN-8 is an eight channel ignition with TWO GPO's that can be used for many items, one such is NOS.
This ignition has the ability to read the EGO/UEGO sensor, one temp channel, AUX input, MAP AND Crankshaft Acceleration @ 200 Hz into the Flash Memory storage chip.
Many other items are "logged" that are internally created data items, one such is Coil Duty Cycle
Once down loaded, the information can be viewed by our Display Software or just common .csv type files.
The IGN-8 can even "see" Crankshaft Acceleration with measurement observed used to detect engine Knock.
Thus if Knock is detected, the IGN-8 will turn off the spark for the next two crankshaft revolutions.
This works better when my 60-2 (58-x) TW is fitted (.25 degree resolution) though when the 24xe TW is fitted, this feature still operated with degraded resolution (2 degrees).
The cause is ONLY the lower tooth count 24/60 of the Target Wheel.
This ignition is great for the Drag Racer when the "two step" is correctly calibrated to allow for Timing Retard then an Engine Miss-Fire Table is able to be created used to limit engine RPM if necessary.

Welcome to LS1 Tech. Old thread, just so you know but a lot of the same very knowledgeable guys are still around.
A lot has changed since then. The MSD 6014 data logs now too. You do need a separate wideband though. Being we are carbed, about the only thing we use it for, is to see what the converter, engine temp, and rpm is doing. We don't use a map sensor, but it will log that too. Do look at the wide band logs for lean spikes, but always look at the plugs, and your MPH to dial it in perfect. The Holey Dominator box is one of the better ones with everything built in with many many more logging functions. Fuel Tech is even better. But that's me.

**** it, I will bump an old *** Lazarus thread if it keeps carb guys interested in modern tuning capabilities. The only real difference in logging is the timing. Carb guys have to implement something extra for that, but FI guys have to double check that too, if they want to get real data.

I'd like to see some info on the Daytona Smart Spark from people that have used it. I have a brand new one but have a ways to go on my build. I may sell it and go to Holley's Terminator if money permits.
