Default Lq9 newb, please help

Hello all, new to the site. I have an 89 OBS truck with a Lq9, stock 243 heads, holley dual plane, ultra dp carb, LT headers. I intend the truck to be a street, strip machine, and will be using a 400 trans. My inquiry is what cam should I go with, stall, spark plugs, timing curve. Any and all help is appreciated. I apologize in advance if I have posted incorrectly or in the wrong section

Read through the stickies at the front of the carb section. Lots of guys posting details of their set up in there. Should be a number that are close to your set up.

You are using a heavier vehicle and will need to keep the cam on the conservative side to promote lower end torque. A TR6 plug is the general pump gas NA plug I use.

Get with Speedtigger through PM and he can help spec a cam for your use with some information he will need form you. From there, call circle D or someone local if you have the option, let them help you decide what will work best for the truck. A 4.10 gear set will help get a fat girl rolling as well.
