Default 6014 launch control

Been trying to figure out where to put the launch control button on my turbo, non transbrake setup for the 6014 box.
Can anyone give me a good reason why i couldnt effectively use a push on/release off button on my brake pedal to trigger the launch 2 step ? That way i wouldnt have to coordinate releasing the brake with my foot and releasing a button with my finger at the same instant. I cant see any reason why engaging the 2 step everytime i hit the brakes would cause a problem. How bout yall ?

On the top end of the track at speed and on the brakes with the 2-step activated on a very lean mix....could that be bad ?

I wouldn't chance it myself.

Cant get my head wrapped around how it could create an issue. Not disagreeing , just trying to think of what the engine is going through at high rpm and off the throttle. Seems like cutting fhe fire above the limiter and coasting in gear could make for a richer mixture. Backfire maybe ?

I'm sure you know, but I'll say it anyway....

2-step kills the spark to a cylinder and sends it the next cycle, alternating cylinders. This is where I'd be concerned at a high rpm and the 2-step activated.

Did you ever as a teenager remember revving a motor, turning the ignition off, pumping the gas, and turning the ignition back on for a big bang/backfire ??
This is what I "think" could/would happen.

I've got my Maverick set up with the brake pedal. Lo rev at 3k, Hi rev at 6800. I don't race, but I've never had the Lo rev activate while street driving it. Can't see how it would happen at the track. Aren't you completely off the pedal when you get on the brakes?

Default Latched

Ok, it seems like MSD thought about this possibility. The " latched " function if enabled doesnt allow the launch 2 step to activate unless the revs go below 7/8ths of the launch rpm set point. Its a safety for a faulty switch or accidental activation. So, if my launch is set for say 3200 rpms, my revs would have to go below about 2900 for it to activate.
