Divorced Choke Issues
I have a Ls7 big block chevy with ls7 intake and a L88 holley factory carb. I can't get the divorced choke to work. The spring on the rod that pushes down (choke open) is much stronger than the bimetallic spring mounted to the manifold. There is no way to adjust the rod and get the choke to be anything other than open. The spring bottoms out in the pocket of the manifold no matter what.
Does anyone have any experience with these chokes? Some people told me to throw it away and get a manual or auto choke but the holley aftermarket replacements don't fit the L88 carb. The mounting is different.

Camaro ?
512 block
074 heads
ls7 intake
the problem is with the l88 carb i can't hook up any of the holley aftermarket manual or auto chokes. the mounting locations are just different on the body of the carb.
i feel like all i can do is get rid of the l88 carb and go to an aftermarket holley or find a new spring on the carb. the spring on the carb is about 10 times stronger than the bimetallic.
