Default Grill Block

I was thinking about blocking off the grill area on my 98' Camaro, but I want to verify that the grill in these cars doesn't actually allow air through the radiator. From what I have seen the foam behind the grill for accident protection blocks all of the air that would have flowed through the grill in the direction of the radiator.

Something along these lines:

Well, this car doesn't utilize the factory air damn which would direct the air from the underneath and go through the condensor and radiator. Notice in the pic that the car doesn't have a slanted rad. (see the silver rad cap)

I don't see it being an issue blocking it off. Just temporarily block it off and see what happens. You'll know once (or if) the temp goes up
