Egr How did GM get away with removing the EGR circuit in 2001. NC has emissions inspections and I want to change my 2000 to an LS6 intake manifold. How can I jump on that train and pass the emission bulls!&t?

In 2001 there was a camshaft change for the LS1 engines, they all began to receive the LQ4/9 truck cam (C5 or F-body). With this cam swap, EGR was no longer needed.
If you have a visual inspection to pass in your state, then you may have no choice but to keep the EGR system (since '00 was originally equipped with such). If though, like many states, you only have an OBD scan test to pass for '96+ vehicles, then there is a simple fix. EGR can be deleted physically, and then custom tuning can be done to remove any codes thus allowing you to pass.
