I'm at a point with the project that I feel good about the progress. I was considering taking the car to a dyno to see how much power the current setup is actually pushing to the wheels. My only concern right now is the fact that the transmission isn't shifting after I hit 103 mph. I don't see it as a major concern for the dyno but what do you guys think? Safe to run it as is or should I change something before going?

Current progress:
1. replaced exhaust manifold bolts that were too short
2. all 8 speakers working (thanks, Kee audio)
3. kept the long tube headers (learned about flare nut wrenches saved $1400)
4. removed years of dust and rust from stock wheels and painted black

I like the 10 spokes as well, I just hated the chrome finish.

Default dyno

When I had my Formula dynoed I'm pretty sure it went over 103 mph,so you might want to keep that in mind. They did 3 pulls, put 2 miles on the odometer, and I'm thinking it went upto 120 mph.

Nathan, I'm almost all stock on the motor so I don't think I will be pushing more than 290hp to the wheels. All of the material I can find so far indicates that a factory setup runs the 1/4 mile at 13.4 at about 107mph. With street tires, I have run 13.2 at 105 mph. Factory hp to the wheels is less than 300 I will be surprised if I hit 300hp on the dyno with an LS6 intake, mild cam, and long tube headers. Maybe I underestimate the power of the bolt-on parts. I don't expect that much power out of the current setup that's all. My biggest fear is breaking the transmission and having to replace it again.

If you are under 300rwhp with those mods then either something is wrong with the car or the dyno reads really really low. Bone stock these cars make 350hp at the flywheel (underrated at 305-325hp), at the wheels M6 cars will put out as much as 320rwhp totally stock and A4 cars have put out over 300rwhp totally stock. With full exhaust, ls6 intake and even a really small cam you should be at least at 400hp at the flywheel, if not more - so at least 320rwhp with an A4.

You're right I was wrong. I misread the information that was published. I see what you're talking about with factory motors putting down 300-325 hp. With the mods, I agree I should be closer to 400. I will know for sure next Friday. My plan is to upgrade the cylinder heads and stopping there for awhile. Any suggestions for bolt on modifications?

Default Dyno results

Dyno run last Friday, 323hp to the wheels. Not too impressive I know. I'm going to look into getting the factory cylinder heads cleaned up. Maybe find a new set. Replace the fuel pump for sure.

Default Snapped bolt

So I snapped a really small bolt that holds the Idle air control valve to the throttle body. I can't get a vice grip on the piece inside the housing. Has anybody had a similar problem? What was your solution? ANy help is appreciated. I don't want to spend money on replacing the throttle body unless I have to.
