Default What engine?

Well Guys my LS1 took its last breath this week. RIP! After many slayed mustangs, corvettes, and other not so lucky rivals It's finally done. 170k on the clock. Water ended up destroying my whole motor. Water was dripping from my cowl into cylinder 6's injector. Water got in and hydrolocked my motor. I am very sad about this and really pissed of because even at that mileage it still made over 400 RWHP with cam and bolt ons.

Here is my question though.

I am looking at replacements. I want to go back stronger and better because there are no cheap options. I do not want a truck motor because this car is on its way to road racing and I dont want the added weight on the wrong end of the car and I want the added cooling benefits of an aluminum engine.

I have been looking at Texas speed and they have LS1/LS6 short blocks, LS2 short blocks, and LS3 short blocks. Which do I buy? What about a GM short block LS3? I know I can resuse my whole top end until I can afford a better option but what is the best way to go? Also What power numbers can I expect with my 228r cam, 241 heads, and LS6 intake? Really lost as far as what to do. The LS3 short block is really expensive and I am not sure of what all the advantages are over the LS2 or even my LS6 block.

What do you guys think?
