First time at the track
First time at the track Well, yesterday was my first time at the track. My friends and I drove to Palmdale (65 miles away) to run the 1/4 mile. One of them owns a 97 Vette w/ some goodies and the other a 02 GT with some goodies as well, I drove my 98 SS. So we drive there, and I had no idea how to get to the track so Im just following them, and they are mashing all the way down the highway, so I'm trying to keep u (i just got my car, and im not sure of its capabilities yet). So after a while I'm getting the hang of things, and they decide to to go for a canyon run. Yippie! It was a rush 
, but it was kinda scary 
at the same time. Well, all was said and done, we came out of the canyons nice and easy. We headed for the track and pull up, pay our fees, etc. and we line up. First car I went up against was a 00 GT. It sounded nice, for sure had an exhaust, and he did a nice burnout. I was just relaxing there. Trying to understand how the launch worked. B4 i knew it he was gunning it, and I got a horrible reaction time! So I just stepped on the gas (auto) and I was off chirping and kicking. I catch him easy, and fly by him for a 14.11 run. The tech said that due to the elevation, we could take off a 1/2 sec. and that would be the time under ideal conditions. So i ran a 13.6? Well, after that there were some more runs, and then came the run against my friends vette! Same concept, he got me off the launch. But after about 80 or so, I started creeping on him, and by the finish line, I had beat him by .123 of a second! I was real happy. It was a damn good time. Damn, Im so screwed! Nothing but mods ahead! lol

The only cure for speed is more speed or death. I prefer more speed though.
