Jet or Hypertech performance chip

Jet or Hypertech performance chip I'm deciding whether or not to get a performance chip for my 89 Camaro RS. What I need to know is when getting the chip do i have to recalibrate the ECU or will the chip alone be fine. Any information would be much appreciated.

On a stock car I don't think there is much benifit to the chips, marginal improvment in throttle response, etc.
On my 90RS I had a Fast Chips Stage II chip that absolutely made a performance difference, car ran faster, smoother, cooler, etc. Car was modified though.
If you want though, I think I have a hypertech stage I or II chip lying around somewhere from before I realied how much better FastChips was(also the hypertech didn't remove the cars speed governor). Let me know if you're interested.

I assume you have a 305TBI? A chip will help, marginal difference on a stock car. Go to www.thirdgen.org That's where it's at for 3rd gen FBodies.
It all depends on what you intend to do with the car. If you are thinking headers, intake manifold, cat back, AFPR, gears, etc, etc, then yes a chip will do you alot of good. If you are thinking cat back exhaust for some sound and that's it, save your money for gas and tires.
Edit: I'd be happy to send you this Hypertech chip I have lying around if you want, just let me know. It's about as hard to swap in and out as a nintendo cartridge, so you can judge for yourself what it does...where are you located?

Any money you try to spend making it faster would be better saved for a future car. Just get some really nice sticky tires for a little more fun.
