Please help me
I need a little help. E (my man) is on lockdown and is getting out in a few weeks. He asked me to look into some info because he is looking into a few different camaros and doesn't know which one he wants yet. I haven't been able to find what I need so I hope someone out there will help me!
1. What is the the difference in a LS1 and LS2?
2. What is the cubic inch in each of LS1 and LS2.
3. What kind of engine is in the supersport (00-02)
4. Difference in a blower and supercharger (including price difference).
I know these might not make any sense as I am asking these from memory and since I don't know too much about cars, I am probably asking these all the wrong way...hey, if so at least it made you laugh right? Please help!!!
Thanks in advance...E's girl...
2. LS1- 346ci, LS2- 364ci
3. SS cars had the LS1
4. blower is just a slang term for supercharger. They can vary in price but can easily range from $3,000-5,000
Hope that helps
Um, the 4th generation Camaro was produced from 1993-2002. V8 trim levels were the Z28 and SS, hardly any performance difference between the two, SS was more of an appearance package than anything. From 1993-1997 it had a longer lower wider nose and it had a 275-305 horsepower (depending on trim level and year) iron block V8 called the LT1. From 1998-2002 it had a nose that looked like a giant catfish
and it had a 305-345 horsepower (again depending on trim/year) aluminum block V8 called the LS1. No Camaros ever came with the LS2, that is a new aluminum block V8 in the C6 Corvette and 2005+ Pontiac GTO. LT1 cars can be had for a STEAL currently but you can get a 98-02 LS1 car for your guy for less than $10K with decent miles on it. The LT1 cars run very low 14/very high 13 second quarter miles stock, while the LS1 cars run mid to low 13 seconds stock."Blower" and "supercharger" are the same thing. IMHO, with no disrespect intended towards those who have superchargers, they aren't worth the money in these cars. New supercharger kits for these cars are usually at least $4,000+ and don't even take a whole second off the car's quarter mile time usually. That's not a very cost effective way to build power. A heads and cam kit or a nitrous setup would be cheaper and more efficient. If you want to go forced induction for some reason, the STS turbocharger kit is a better choice than any supercharger kit.
Hope this helps.
