help Dear pals,
i have a technical question, i have a 96 camaro 5.7L and the dealer said after having it scaned on computer that the water pump is leaking on the distributor and that water is going inside the distributor and effecting the performance of the car and neeed to change them both,now, if i change only the water pump, shouldnt water dry by time from the distributor and it will be OK eventually ???????please advise weather it is a must

I bought my '94 LT1 used in 1999 with 94k miles.
Today it's outside and it's still my daily driver. Believe it or not it has the original opti in it! I knew the previous owner.
A couple of times when the radiator, and water pump went sour, the car stubbled sometimes for a coupledays untill it all cleared up.
Orginal opti!!!

Hobb3s thank you for the info, but what is an optispark?isit the Distributor and do i need to change it fully or the cap only or what exactly i need to change,,,,and does it make sense to change the water pump and wait for 2-3 days maybe the water will dry and it will be ok,,,,or i should change it anyway
