thanks guys! this thing has been a long time coming. the only thing left to do is the route my tranny lines, hang my new cooler, put the rad/fans back in, figure out some bolts for my starter and alternator and then the wiring...probably 2 full days and it'll run.

it starts! and i'm exhausted...

it doesn't run though. it'll run for about 5 seconds then shut off. we're suspecting a possible bad MAF. but i need to do some trouble shooting first. but it does start...and sounded NASTY through that 4" magnaflow out back when i got one good little rev out of her....it spins up QUICK....

Nice bar? Is it custom or did you buy it from somewhere?

i believe that he tuned that out and i thought that it wouldnt even start if the vats was still on.

the cage is a comp engineering that he added onto, pictures dont do it justice.

it might just need some tuning.

congrats matt!

Check VATS. If it's consistently 5 Sec.....
If it's the problem, search TGO for solution, or call Hawks and he'll hook you up.
Good job on the swap. You gonna put sub frame's? or the roll cage be healthy enough?

my tuner said he forgot to tune out the VATS  we should be running fully tomorrow.

the car already had some pretty overkill sfc's in it before the bar went in. it's also got lca relocation brackets and tubular rear suspenions throughout. jegster torque arm, spohn 'moly adjustable lca's, spohn mildsteel non-adjustable panhard rod, competition engineering adjustable rear shocks, etc...

the rear tire is a 275/60/15 on a 15x10 on a 6.5" backspace

greg came back over this morning and turned the VATS off for real this time. turned the key and it fired right up and stayed running. has a nice crisp clean sound to it too. so far we can tell that the MAF is not reading and the wiring to the 4l60e may not be correct. i have the plugs physically in the transmission, but it's throwing all three trans codes and is defauling to 2nd gear like it's not hooked up. i did NOT do anything to the harness going to the trans, nor have i put any additional power to the trans other than giving power the the PCM. is there anything else i'm supposed to do?

oh, and enjoy a video:

i'm using Hawks stainless longtubes. they're made specifically for thirdgen lsx swaps by Stainless Works. they're currently the only game in town, so they're expensive, but man are they ever nice!

here's a pic of them when i got them before they went on the car:

woo whoooo!!!!...I'm a tuner now....not!....when I first flashed the PCM it already had a tune from somewhere else and I had to reset everything to stock so I had a baseline to tune from....and freaking completely forgot to turn VATS off like a retard....a quick fix this am and it came to life...

Matt, I've been digging around looking for trans stuff....I'll let you know if I find anything....

got another small victory, the trans now seems to be operating semi-correctly. found a wire that needed a 12v source and i piggy-backed it onto the switched 12v going to the PCM. with it still on jackstands the car seems to be going into at least the first 3 forward gears now.

and a thanks to the guys at speartech for taking the time out of your morning to answer a technical question from a guy who didn't spend money with you. stand up fellas in my opinion, and i'll make sure the next go 'round we use one of your harnesses, this has been a severe pain in the butt!
