Default Ls2 dbw

I stuck this in PCM diagnosis a few days ago. Since i got very few views and no answers (and more importantly, still have NFC) I'll try here too.

LS2. 24x reluctor.
DBW pedal from 05 GTO.

I'm told you only need the TAC if you have the auto trans, with a T56 it's fine without it.

Is this correct? Because in all the reading I've done, I haven't seen this mentioned, and it doesn't seem right to me.

You don't need a TAC module for either one. The pedal wires directly to the E40 ECM on the 05-06 GTO and all of the newer stuff.

I was told its necessary for cruise control but otherwise not necessary for manual trans..

I figured John would chime in lol... So at least was I correct regarding cruise ( I was half right on manual trans )?

Wow that was quick. Thanks a bunch.
I didn't realise the ECU was the E40 - all I had was a GM part #.

So one other dumb followup if I may now I've had 30 seconds with google - the E40 apparently integrates cruise control also. Can it really be that simple or have I missed something?

<edit> Never mind - post 3 came in while I was typing...

I believe you still have to use the BCM to get cruise control operation. You do on current stuff.

To expand.. for my application (05 LS2 GTO, 4L65E from same) I was told the best way to utilize cruise control via DBW and the stock cruise stick on my 86 Monte SS was to use a truck PCM (LQ4 ) along with a truck TAC module to get around the need to otherwise include the BCM..
