Swapping cammed LQ4 in 1977 chevy truck.
I am installing a cammed LQ4 in a 1977 chevy truck with a built 4l65e, SS4000 converter, and a 12bolt 4.10 posi. The truck weighs 4150 with me in it. I have a few questions. I am getting a 2004+ LQ4. I need advice on a cam and what is a safe rpm to run this at. I am wanting to shift around 6400-6500. I will have headers, tune. I will be running the truck intake. What kind of horespower numbers can I expect and 1/4 numbers. I am leaning towards the f13 cam. Let me know, Thanks, Jared

I don't believe the truck intake manis will be the bet for upper RPMs. try a LS2 car intake. Unless I misread your post. If so. MY BAD LOL.

everthing I have read says that the truck intake isn't that bad and the ls6 intake only gains 5-10 horse over the truck intake, Not worth the hassle in my opinion. I talked to texas speed today and they said the torquer V3 would be nice for my set up. Do you guys agree. They said it should be close to 500 horse.
