Lsx into 1st gen lightning??
Hey guys,
Thought I would ask here first. I am really liking the idea of swaped vehicles and I have always loved gen 1 lightnings. I come across them beat up and needing help all the time but dont want to waste my time building a truck that wont go anywhere because of technology. I was thinking a 93-95 1st gen with a 6.0L swap, not sure about the trans but there are tons of options for that out there. Let me know if you guys have seen anyone do it or how hard you believe this build would be.
Thanks Tom

408 would be aweseome! What's your budget? Do you already have the Truck? There is a guy around here in the upstate greenville area that has a 5.4 mod motor swapped in a first gen with a ported blower, custom lts, and a upgraded boost pulley it made 430ish rwhp. But a good 408 with a a ported fast 92/92 Trick flow 225's and throw in a MS3 for good measure or any cam in the mid 230 duration and keep it under .600 lift and you'd be looking at 525rwhp pretty easily.

Its really just an idea i have thought about for a while. I like the 454ss with the swap thats pretty cool and i have never seen a gen1 Lightning with a gen 2 motor swap but that would be lots of fun. My dad still has my old 95 i could pick up for next to nothing so i would think a build of 5-6k after the purchase of the truck would be reasonable. A 408 built would be ideal, the only thing is i am not sure what trans I would consider doing in it.
