Nah, I didn't. Haven't been to Jersey in years. Here are some pics I took when I did my swap in 07. I don't have any from when the engine was actually out, but I plan on pulling it again sometime soon, for a little modding lol.

This may help any of the frame or engine bay questions, at least for the 94-96 guys (hint hint hotrodscrap )

Looks awesome. That is how those cars should have been delivered from the factory.

Deuce, my car is a '78, same engine bay as yours.
Street&Performance carries 2 different adapter plates, one who puts the trans in stock location, and one who moves the trans one inch forward.
What I'm asking is;
Did you use the plates who leaves the trans in stock location, and how much room is there between the firewall mounted heater/ac box and the cylinder head?
Thanks,
Roar

I used TD plates on mine. If you don't want to notch the engine crossmember, I wouldn't suggest getting the forward mount plates. There's more than enough room at the back of the engine in mine with the regular mounts. Forward mounting will just make oil pan fitment that much worse.

Great input guys!
Just bought some dirty dingo adjustable adapter plates.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LSx-G...item2a0368b3db
The guy who's making them says in the auction that they're vehicle spesific, and based on the OE frame pads. Turned out they don't fit the OE B-body clam shells. Instead you need to buy some Moroso SOLID frame adapters to make them fit..
He refunded my money though, so I put the experience on the learning account.
I don't mind some fabbing, so I think I'll base my installation on the OE LS1 block mounted clam shells, and make my own frame adapters. That way I'll be in full control of the engine placement in all directions.
Anybody done that?
Another reason for doing this, is that the car will be driven in cold weather, and I want to put in a block heater, which I think will be impossible with "standard" adapter plates. Any insight on that one?

Yes PSI, and GaDCM I'd still be interested in a swap harness. I'm going to jump into that swap as soon as I get the Race truck finished. I gotta get back to the states first though! Subscribing!

I used the transdapt plates that put the bell housing in stock location. For headers I used the pacesetter full length for fbodies. Drivers side went right on,, passenger side I had to slightly tap a very very very small dent on the #4 primary. Other than that, went on smooth... 89 caprice

I'm about to put an 2002 T/A LS1/4L60E into my dd 1978 2d Olds 98.
I always do as much research as possible before getting into big projects, and there's tons of info to find on LS swaps, but very little B-body spesific...
This thread is ment to be a information collector/exchange/discussion for us folks that are thinking of, are in the middle of, or have done a B-body LS1 swap.
Every aspect of the swap is interesting, from fuel tanks/pumps/lines to engine mounts and oil pans.
Any and all info or insight are highly appreciated

They're everywhere but I ordered mine off amazon. Transdapt part # 4572. I'm not sure if they're identical to the s&p but they worked fine for me.. Cost around $50...

Hi guys.
engaged in the installation of the engine lm7 5.3 in Buick LeSabre 81
I do not want to cut the frame. What oil pan do I need? is it possible to keep the native oil pan from Tahoe? what motor mounts should I use for this?
I'm looking for drawings of motor mounts with dimensions.
Thank you very much for your help.

Any of the 91-96 offerings will work also. You can make cheap Flowtech headers work for 98+ Camaros work. Shorty or mid-length Trailblazer SS headers should work also. There are a few companies that make crazy expensive Impala SS pieces as well.

Thank you ill check in on that
