I was just wondering how hard it would be to modify a auto harness into a
manual harness

Not too hard, just delete some of the wires. You will have to re-task a couple of them thought to function as the reverse lockout wires, reverse light wires, and maybe the skip shift if you want that to function. The VSS is a plug in.

Its really no different than modding the rest of the harness.
