Default 6010 box with carb combo problem

Well to start my friend with the camaro and the 6.0l engine has this problem the engine is carb conversion, it fires up right away and you can drive it around but it looses fire while ya driving and pops if ya are at idle it shuts down all the way quits, but starts right back up this is the second 6010 box he sends back the first was so hard to start he burt 2 starters and killed the battery a few times ,when he put the new box it starts right away but now it kills now and then he is thinking of sendind the harness back with the box ,he has checked all the grounds and easy stuff ,so any ideas

The only time I had that happen to me was fouled plugs.

well ,he had changed them again yesterday to check that but dam happened again,so wasent the plugs

possible a bad coil on one of the cylinders? if you've tried three and the problem still persist, it's got to be something else.

well i told him i been reading about that and he will try that maybe tonight ,but do ya think it would kill on idle just from 1 bad coil

What about the battery. If it is having issues starting are you sure you have a strong enough battery to turn it over? Also during the wiring process of the box, did you use a big enough size gauge wire to supply the box? Is your fuel pump getting enough voltage? Lots of things can cause that problem. How many psi is the fuel pump?

when it dies what is the voltage at the box?

i cant recall what the 6010 box requires for voltage, it is not the normal 9.x volts... i think it needs somewhere in the 10 range.
they are finicky.

anything under 11.xx and they start messing up

the fuel pressure is set at 7 psi and it never falls ,the way it shuts down is like ya turn the key off ,but it fires right back up ,starts no problem when he had the edelbrock box he didnt have any trouble it has happen ever since the 6010 box we gonna try another box and harness and see where that goes
