I used a techrods harness, way cheaper than a painless and very nice construction with factory colored wires

Got more done today, adjusted the colum linkage, added new shift indicator with proper markings. I installed the new swaybar and wired up the oil press and water temp gauges. Also installed the fuel rail covers.

Cool video

I have very similar project going on. 2001 T/A LS1+T56 into 68 Camaro. Also few questions on my mind, will PM you later. Keep up the good work.

Sidestory, we also have some snow up here (more than a foot) and about 17 F right now. But that is warm already. It was around -5 F for several weeks. Brrrrrr.. Where is the global warming, I wonder?

I had the 200-4r behind my 327 and it's a world of difference ... but the ls1 is so far ahead of the old mouse (even with trick flow heads and all the good stuff)

nice looking project ... a little sleeper-like with the column shift and rally wheels ... grats

All depends on what you can salvage. If you need things to have a "new" appearance or if you wait for the right deal to come along I'd suspect $2-5K

to have a "nice" looking swap with some of the "bolt in" mods (tank/harness) Your realisticly looking at 4K. Assuming you can get your engine trans/acc drive for under 2 grand.

On a side note I got the new stereo and cable-x installed so the wiring is 100% done. Also got the PCM programmed (turns out I was only getting 8V @ the PCM, I didn't realize it was a resistor wire ....mostly because the car came with an HEI and it should of been replaced with a normal wire when the HEI was installed- the HEI did work fine on 8V)

So I was able to drive it out of the garage under its own power, and got to clean up the garage.

Very nice ,so I'll see you on the power tour ? S&P headers ? order the copper gaskets for the collectors , mine blew out at about 75 miles , also I used a rod coupling on the 1 area that is really hard to get to instead of a nut . JOHN

That thing is looking good. I'm liking the sleeper look of the rally wheels, what size are those tires? Also what did those 8.5" rear ends come in? I also have the 8.2" and I'm wondering if it will survive.

71-74 (some say 76) novas have the 8.5 10 bolt that will bolt right in. The 2nd gen f cars wont fit. IIRC all of them are multi-leaf.

in the pic the car has 14x6 with 205's in the front and 15x7 with 215's in rear. Now the car has the old 15" rears on the front and vette 15x8 rallys with 255-60-15's on the rear (still with flat caps) to keep the sleeperish vibe.

I read too much bad press about the 8.2's to put a posi/gears/axles and then break it. It costs the same to build an 8.2 or 8.5 so its worth it if your building an axle to swap. If I had a 8.2 with 3.73 and posi, I would of run it untill it broke. But I had 2.73 open rear.. so the swap made sense.
