Default ?s Windstar Electric fans

I've seen a few posts on Windstar fans being used. Anyone know what years are they from? Also, what are the dimensions and airflow?

I spoke with Dorman a while back when I bought mine last year in 2009 and they make the OEM DORMAN Part # 620131...... The tech gave me results from the test sheets that they had on file and I thought I would share it with the board for guys looking for a budget friendly electrical fan assembly.
The fans were $106 at Rock Auto, but I am sure they can be found in the junkyard or salvage yard for less........$40-$60

Test Results:

2000 Ford Windstar Fan Assembly
left fan: 340ml= 13.3inches
right fan: 390ml=15.3inches

left fan: 60.3cmm=2129.193cfm
right fan: 64.4cmm=2273.964cfm
this was rated at 1935 RPMS
4403.157 cfm total......

ml= milliters
cmm= cubic meters per minute
cfm= cubic feet per minute
conversion from cmm to cfm done by cmm x 35.31= cfm

Only $106..... dorman 99-03 ford windstar fan 6 blades but bigger fan blades.
The 94-98 dorman fans has 8 blades but smaller blades. I don t know if the having more blades are better or if its the design of the blade thats better.......

This is great for guys that are using radiators like mine for a 69 Chevelle, intended for the big block.....

They work VERY well...I never "need" the large fan to be used in combination with a big block stock radiator. I have the small fan set up on a Painless sensor/relay kit and the large one on a toggle switch under the dash.

Even in the 100*+ summer heat in stop and go traffic the car stays at a normal temperature. I use the large fan anyway if I start beating on it, mostly because the external trans cooler is in front of it, so it pulls more air through that half of the radiator.

They also make quick work of cool down between track passes.

I love mine, just cut the side tabs off and mounted the top using holes in the radiator support cover for the shroud. One large bracket on bottom to keep it from flopping.

Best part is, if you have trouble out of them you can go to virtually any salvage yard and pull a new pair for $20-40 or get them on ebay for around those prices all day long.

I have a set of those that I picked up for a project. They are used from a 95 Windstar, both tested good. They were too wide for an S-10 LSX swap. If anyone is interested I'll sell them for what I bought them for, send me a PM.

I paid right at $70 for some new ones shipped off ebay. Tons of pigtails for them to cut out in the junkyards.

Yeah ain't that the truth...... great fans, just a shitty car...lol.... When I got my pigtails out of the junkyard, they had about 10-12 Windstars there....lol... I found the cars all over the place here....

I went to the ford dealer for the pigtails and those jokers wanted like around $40 a picktail..... Mortorcraft brand.... I said hell no, went to the junkyard and cut them off...... I think $20-$25 for both OEM pigtails....

Yelp Thunder, when mine come on, I have them connected to the relay in the engine fuse block from the gto, then wired to the pcm, Whenever they do come on, they only cycle for about 30-45 secs, and they really drop the temp quickly.....

93-97 dodge intrepid dual fans are good as well as 2000 jeep grand cherokee single fan is good too. Both have very simple mounting ears on sides of built-in shrouds. Intrepid fansd are same diameter as LS1 factory fans and they also have a larger dia fan engine dependent. For got Dorman fan umber but just ebay search for intrepid fan and you will see. both are very slim too; like 3.5 inches thick.
