Havent posted in a while, but I haven't really been working on the car lately. Been installing a turbo on a 2004 GTO. Almost done with that. SO Ive installed CNC heads on my car which raised the CR to 10:1 aprox. You can really hear the cam now! The car is faster than it ever been on 13 psi, but I waiting to install a 4inch IC to free up boost. Also got to do something in the rear cause its making noise will these 8.5 live? The car is still on low boost, but im thinking of adding 3.73-3.55 gears to help it get to the RPM power band in the 1/4, If I trap at 6,800-7,000 rpm I will be ok. Any one know if the 8.5 can live?

The 8.5" ten bolt is very strong. People have been using them in cars that run into the 8's for years.

Quote from above: "How strong is the 8.5-inch 10-bolt? Well, let’s put it this way: Both Dave Henninger and Kurt Urban run these 10-bolts (with spools) in their respective Camaros. Henninger has run as quick as 8.68/151 mph, while Urban’s Camaro runs 9.20s/145. Henninger has never broken a gear and has logged hundreds of runs. That should settle the question of durability."
