Sorry. I had never heard of Kurt Urban before. I thought you were saying he was some dude you got them from that did them one-off or something.

They aren't listed on the site but I see something similar are part of his vapor kit so they probably can sell them. Still not direct to -AN though. His appear to be NPT which he then puts a -AN adapter in.

I've seen them direct to -AN before, just forgot where.

yeah i was just givin ya ****. In the kit these go to braided line via an npt to -an fitting.

I just tapped the head and screwed the -4 fittings right in. Worked perfect

I hear ya. The thought of possibly having aluminum shavings floating around inside my water lines doesn't excite me any though. That and I'm one of those guys who typically uses too much force when doing any given task. Tapping aluminum normally requires more finesse, which I have little of, and less brute force. I normally screw up tapping aluminum as a result. $32 is worth eliminating the risk of screwing up my heads to me.

I try to keep up to date on this site but there is so dang much activity and not any single section where I can dedicate the majority of my attention. I'm a 4x4 guy so unless Mr. Urban gets into rock crawling ...

I don't know though. If that price is for 2, as pictured, its about in line with or better than Mr. Urban's seeing as how you're going to spend $5 or so on the 1/8 npt - AN adapter to go into his fittings.

Why plumb all four corners like you did though?

J J you need to vent ALL the corners to get the air out of the heads. air pockets will sit in those corners with no way out. and than it dose not cool in those spots making hot spots. which is no good for your engine.

trust me went i first got my engine running the hot air coming up out of those lines was crazy!!! the lines started jumping around and making poping sound untill coolant started to flow

so make sure you do all 4 corners

The truck engines have the rear ports blocked off. Is there something different on the LS1 that I don't see?

Air should rise to the highest vent in each head. The factory has only two vents ported in stock form, the other two blocked off. If you leave them cracked the first time you run the engine after filling with coolant of course air is going to rush out. What do you know that GM doesn't?
