Default g-body steering question

i have a 78 malibu. and i have my mock up motor in the car but im having a little trouble with the steering shaft.

im using a manual box and the steering shaft is not long enough. i read that it should be telescopic but mine isnt. does anyone know what car i can snag a steering shaft from that IS telescopic and will bolt right in?

i know i can get parts from flaming river to make something custom but im trying to keep costs down to avoid this.

I have one from a '95 Jeep Grand Cherokee, it gets rid of the rag joint.

Can you post a picture of your steering shaft?

If your steering shaft looks like the one in these pictures, in the link, it is telescopic. Sometimes the inside part is real hard to pull out, but it will move. If you just want to get rid of the rag joint, get a Borgerson u-joint. You would need a 1"DD X 3/4 30 spline.
