Default 69 skylark 4 dr lsx engine placement issues

anyone have expierience puttin a LS engine in a 4 door A-Body... im running into fitment issues and im beginning to think the frame is different. i have the truck oil pan on the engine right now just for mock up. ive tried the tall and narrow and the short and wide mounts and none match up with the existing holes in the frame which if i had to modify the bolt pattern im not opposed to, the oil pan hits the backside of the crossmember when i get the engine sitting where i want it , and the steering linkage is hitting the oil pan when i have the engine sitting where i want it and if i shim the mounts to clear everything i cant bolt a transmission up to it, and the passenger side valve cover is trying to knock a hole in my ac box which i desperately wanna keep.
suggestions? im using the trans dapt mounts that are supposed to be for mounting in any sbc chassis( i know this isnt a sbc chassis ) but is the chevelle frame that much different from the skylark?
