81 Malibu Budget 5.3 swap!!

^^Exactly^^
On your heater box dilemma... why not do a coil pack relocation instead of modifying the box?
I took the heat / AC box out of my 83 Monte Carlo because it was broken and someone cut most of the wires and vacuum lines. My solution was shaving the firewall, then painting it to match the body... looked great but made for a limited driving season car.

Thank you, i just talked to Jay_lt4, he informed me that all i need is the Hughes crank spacer and im good,
BTW nice G-body, Im trying to get my 86MC SS back from someone that i sold it to years ago. It was a stripped t-top drag car that id like to put a twin turbo lsx in.

Removed all A/C and heat components to put a blank off plate. Car didn't have working A/C and the heater box was a broken joke. later on ill add Non A/c heater box. I also removed a lot of ghetto wiring from underneath the dash. Almost 4 lbs worth of radio wiring and random tagged wires.

Nice looking installation looks like it was a factory install. Question what headers are you using are they the Pacesetter Fbody ones. If so did you have to modify them to fit like some other people had to? Keep us posted on the progress.

[QUOTE=Novaman;15343256] lol, i ended up selling it to a friend cheap and he's rebuilding it to put in a 68 camaro
Not sure what the exact color is, but I worked at a body shop and had a PPG professional scan it to color match and it is closest to a mazda 6 color from 2008.
Yeah I'm using f body headers. Drivers side fits perfect. Passenger depending on mounts may fit ok or be a royal pain. I had to dent a header tube a little and notch the frame in my case. But I got the headers for 280 instead of 700 brp swap headers.. im all about budget.

Wiring harness is converted, and PCM is flashed to eliminate vats, efr, rear o2s. All I need to do is hook up battery power, key on power, oil sending unit, starter harness, tach, and feul pump!

Haven't done much, been working a bunch..
Crinkle finished the valve covers.. laying out the harness and where I want to mount ecm and all that.
Still have to order my gas tank, sending unit, and feul pump. Im in the process of bending a 3/8 supply line on the drivers side of the car. I'm going to utilize the factory 5/16 vapor canister line as my return and put a high pressure filter near the tank in the back. After that all I'll need to do is fill her with fluids and crank her up!!!!!!!

Ibelieve ive sourced a non a/c heater assembly so it will look clean under the hood as I don't really want to do a blank off plate. I'll be ordering my feul stuff as soon as I get my next paycheck! For now ill be working on tidying up everything.
What I have left:
Finish routing harness
Inner fenderwells
Heater box, cables, and ducting
Feul tank/pump/sending unit
Bend a 3/8 feed line from tank to engine bay
Get some torque converter bolts
Put interior back together
Put an inline adapter for vent tube
Throttle cable conversion
Drop pan/change filter on trans
Install shifter
