i have been looking around at the yards and came across this 5.3 and wanna see what you guys think... they want $450 for the motor with complete harness and comp. the mileage is unknown....3 month replacement warranty

Price isn't too bad since it comes with everything and a warranty. Just look for signs of excessive mileage. I paid 750 after shipping for my 5.3.

What are the key areas to look at to determine excessive mileage

well i went to the yard today and i was really confused because they claimed that all of the motors were 5.3 and i dont believe that... soo would the best way to tell tell is measure the stroke with a coat hanger and if its more that 3.5 inch its 5.3 and less is 4.8???
