EPS Cammed LQ9 in Christine ...Many Videos inside.
Hello Everyone,
It has been a while since I have posted about Christine (my previously LS1 powered Caprice), and that is because I lost a job for a while and had to sell her stock (but STRONG running, see Sig below) LS1 to make ends meet for a bit.
Well, I have been saving my pennies and nickels and have teamed up with "Aknovaman" on here to get a LS1 replacement installed and running. And as usual he has done a great job for me!
I am on a budget so we did a stock LQ9 and got a EPS cam package from Geoff. Seems like several LS1 guys are putting out over 400 rwhp "Cam only" using his grinds, so I hope that it will do just as well in a LQ9.
Anyways, here is a short video of my LQ9 6.0L with an EPS cam (234/246 @ .050 with .602"/.607" lift on a 111 LSA) idling in Christine, before finishing up the harness and a couple other odds and ends. Driveability and Final Tune coming soon...

Thank you for your time.

When he has time to complete the driveability tuning and final tuning, I think he plans to make a couple dyno pulls with it.
After Anthony (Aknovaman) is satisfied with the tune and likes how well the new set up (new engine, cam, trans, stall) is working together, then he will let me have it.
Yeah, I can't wait to hear it in person, he said the cell phone recording just doesn't do it justice. I guess it sounds pretty menacing in person.
Thank you kindly! Seems like it's getting harder and harder to keep 3 vehicles on the road on a PB&J budget these days.

And I agree, I like his motor mounts, very nice pieces.
Have you seen his engine run stand? It's pretty neat as well.

The entire valvetrain package (cam, springs, retainers, pushrods) came from the site sponsor "EPS".
The engine also has ARP rod bolts to assist in the higher RPM operating range of the set up as well.

I just made 417/389 in my ls1 fox with basically the same cam on a 112lsa. I also have an ls6 intake, slp 25% underdrive, kooks 1 3/4 into 3" true duals. I doubt you will see 400 through a TH400 but I guess it is possible since its a 6.0. My car pulls liek a freight train though Im very happy with the cam choice.

I am hoping that the larger displacement will help offset the power-robbing TH400 and 4500 Stall.

Seems many of the LS1 guys are making over 400+ hp to the tire with a 234/246 EPS cam. You made almost 420, and Steveo put down 436 (while running out of fuel on the high side) using a similar EPS cam as well (seen here at post# 134 https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...results-7.html).
I am hoping that the larger displacement will help offset the power-robbing TH400 and 4500 Stall.

I am reusing the headers from the previous LS1 swap, which were the cheapest Summit racing "F-Body" headers I could find... I want to say they are Headmen brand headers if I am not mistaken.
