Default 2000 S10 Blazer 5.3 swap

I have a realy Nice 2000 s10 blazer with a 4.3 locked up The average 4.3 in my area is $700.00-$1000.00 (1999-2000 only) I have found a 2005 truck that I can get the L33 aluminum block 5.3, wiring harness, CPU, throttle and module for $500.00 I was wondering what would be involves in putting a 5.3 in I got questions like will this mate up to the 4.3 4L60e, Do I need the 5.3 bellhousing, or do I need the whole 4L65e transmission. Will the Oil pan work in the 4WD s10 or what application do I need to look for an oil pan?

You can reuse the stock S-10 transmission. But you will need a spacer for the flexplate.

As far as the oil pan, you will need either a custom pan, or major mods to the stock 5.3 pan or LH-8 oil pan to fit over the front diff.

What is a LH-8 oil pan? What kind of a vehicle does it come out of?

The LH-8 oil pan comes from an H-3 Hummer with a 5.3. And is also now used on the Colorado and Canyon pickups with a 5.3. Has great clearance with a 2wd frame, and may offer less cutting and welding on the 4wd. Holly also makes a swap pan that is very close to the LH-8 pan as well.
