I'm running ms2. There is a ls1 specific wheel decoder now so you dont even really need the cam sensor. Haven't really come across any guides but feel free to ask any questions. I am no computer wiz but I have had pretty good success with megasquirt on a few of my cars. Here is the ignition instructions, in my opinion the hardest part. http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/ls1.html Once you get it running a wideband and VE analyze live (feature of tuner studio) will get it dialed in quickly

I did not have a start up file. When you load the firmware it will have a base map of sorts already in it. You will need to set the injector characteristics (size and style and how many) and the main ignition options (what trigger wheel and coils). The base tune is already set up for all gm sensors. You will have to calibrate the TPS and you will need to set up the idle valve parameters if you are going to use the stock stepper motor. There are really good instructions for that here,http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/Idle_...00000000000000. Once you get it fired up and have a good wideband input it will tune the fuel table itself (I only trust this for doing out of boost tuning) The igniton table will need to be dyno tuned but the LS is common enough you can guess a good starting point. I would be happy to share my tune with you when you are ready. It was very overwhelming for me at first but it will all just click one day and seem easy.

Small update, I have been doing a bunch of small stuff as I can afford it. The best thing so far was going to a 3.08 rear gear. It made the car so much nicer to drive on the freeway and should be perfect when I go turbo. Also replaced a bunch of the suspension bushings and made some adjustable rear control arms so I could get the pinion angle perfect. The last big thing on the list is to raise the driveshaft tunnel so I can get the ride height down a bit, then it's getting the snail. Already have a zr1 cam, dual springs, pushrods and a china gt45 so i'm halfway there.

Took it to an autocross yesterday just for fun. Everybody loved it and it gave me a chance to slide it around without wrecking it

What Ford did those ignition coils come off of? They look interesting from a packaging perspective.

The end goal is still to boost it so I wanted everything to be ready, besides it was only 80 bucks and got me infinite cheap gear sets and a 31 spline limited slip.

Vid of the drags

So I lost to my buddy's turbo honda last weekend.... I did the turbo install on his car but it still sucked. This has prompted me to stop everything and make my car faster. I started the install of my ls9 cam and springs and the turbo is next. I made my own spring compressor tool to do the springs without taking the heads off, it worked pretty damn good. It will be back up and running today. Best part is i'm running megasquirt 2 off the crank sensor only. This meant I didn't need to worry about moving the cam sensor with the ls9 cam, made it a real 100 dollar cam swap.
