Opinion's needed!!!
Ok, well I just sold my 1997 240sx LSX swap a few weeks ago to payoff some bills and save for a new house and I'm in the planning stages for my next build. I loved the handling of the 240sx and overall apperance, but I'm thinking my next project will be something old school. My wife is excited about this and I'm looking for something that could be a nice date car for the weekend, but a total street monster as well. Number 1 on my to do list right now is a 1st gen Camaro, but I'm wondering what other suggestions you guys have that would fit this critera. I think a Camaro Lq9/T56 in a 69 Camaro would be sick, but everyone know's how pricey the shell's are.
What would you guys build? Pics???

An Old Caddy would be cool, but not all that sporty hmmm. I thought about a mid 80's G body, but I'm helping my brother drop a 454 in his 1980 Monte Carlo. He's not mechanicaly inclined so it's like I already have a G body project.

early second gen camaro (70-73). the aftermarket is really warming up to these cars. handling is better than a first gen and the collectability is going to be there soon , i think. still some good bargains out there for now though. i just finished my 72 w LS3. ill post up some pics when i figure out the upload thing on this computer. good luck !

'69 to '79 Vette. It's a little tight, but they can be real head turners. The swap isn't all that bad, either. Also in that range of years, they changed the look here and there. It all depends on what you're looking for.

Lsx in a 66' to 69' Corvair. The LS has alredy gone into a VW Karmaghia, so the rear engine engineering is out there. I know where 3 hard top Corvairs are right now in SanBernardino CA. LSx 5.3 with a single turbo in a Corvair Damm!
Check them out @ Hemmings - cars for sale
You could even re-engineer a Wbodys LS4 drivetrain to fit.

thats dale earnheart jrs car. it is a piece of work. if u notice, its not a real rs car (split bumper) . DSE grafted round rs blinkers between the grill and headlights, then turned the original blinker location( below the bumpers) into functional brake ducts. i played with the idea on my 72 when i was building it, but chickened out and just put the split bumpers on my standard frontend. im not set up with the cool toys( tools ) to make stuff like that work out right. if u go to DSEs website they show the complete build. oh and it runs a carbed LS2.

On second thought...get the hard top!!
51 Merc would be awesome!!!.
Might be best to look at some pics with your wife and see what she thinks "would be cute" (sorry that's the way my gf would put it). Old 50's Ford or Chevy truck would be killer too.

Do something different and build a mopar like a 68 Charger or 69 Road Runner, or how about a Cuda clone? I think you might get death threats from mopar folks, but the swap would work great, be easier than a modern hemi, and welcome here. Dusters and Darts are cheap and a plenty with slant 6. If you want to stay gm, do a 64-67 a body. Only reason I did 69 Camaro, is I had it laying around.

Yeah, I'm thinking an A body is pretty high on the list and I would rather stay GM. I've consider the truck option and haven't compeltly ruled them out yet. I would just be a little concerned about putting down major power with no weight in the rear. ( sorry never owned a truck at this point)
