Default torque convertor to flexplate

I have a 2005 4.8 but not sure if it is the 2005 4.8 or the 2004 6.0 flexplate can't remember. I am trying to mate it to a 4l60e from a 98 4.3 I have read and been told I need some kind of aradpter or something but have no Idea here are a couple pictures I just took. I am hoping to have everything to put the motor and trans back in the car this weekend. I hope someone can explaing if this is all correct or what I am looking for to make this work. Thanks In advance

hughes makes a spacer that slips in the pilot bearing opening on the back of the crank and the snout of the converter rides in it, its about $40 @ summit. the gm performance adapter is $40 and requires longer bolts since its rides on the face of the flex plate.
