i could elaborate on my personal reasoning, but this is not my thread lol...
i have a couple of questions for you... just to better shape my potential personal project lol.
why did you decide against the stock ls1 hydo motor mounts. seems they could have been made to work out.... i only ask because after the volvo redblocks... i am super picky about vibe... possibly neurotic about it...
also, i wondered if something along the lines of this:

would have afforded you more clearance from the cross member... but maybe not, looks like possibly an extra inch. what kind of clearance did you end up having down there? would you mind shooting up a pic of it? i sure would appreciate it

Awesome build, love the stock look.
Im going to do this myself so i would like to know how well the shifter and bellhousing fits the transmission tunnel? Do you have to extend the tunnels length for the shifter to lign up or does it fit right away?
Would you like to share the partnr for the headers?
