LQ4 swap in v6 firebird-some questions
so recently i blew a rod in my 98 stock ls1 motor. only enjoyed the car for 2 months then the rod let go. blew a hole on the underside
so now im planning on picking up a 01 LQ4 from a junkyard/whole sales place nearby with 106k miles. everything from the oil pan up to the upper intake manifold and fuel rail. doesnt include the wire harness, starter, alternator and bracket.
i did my reading and i should be able to reuse the wire harness from the ls1. i also read ppl got away with running 2 out of the 3 alternator bolts and not needing to drill/tap the 3rd correct? any suggestions to do it anyways? also can i or should i swap all of the pulleys over from the ls1 motor or just use the pulleys on the LQ4?
im not going to remove the 317 heads as i just want the car to run and be able to enjoy driving it this summer my good friend is doing the entire swap for me who has done plenty of lsx-swaps. while the motor's out he's also going to install TSP 228R along with TSP dual springs, titanium locks, valve seals, stems as well. also will be throwing on the LS6 intake and SLP headers along with poly motor mounts. he's also going to firm the 2-3 shift accumulators in the 4L60e trans with transgo shift kit for the time being until i can save up some more for a built trans that my buddy will built for me along with a 3200 stall. already rocking a 12 bolt moser so thats taken care of
going back to why im planning to keep the 317 heads is because at some point in the near future i do plan on going force induction, leaning towards a turbo setup so it's nice to have the 9.4:1 CR. nothing large like a 78mm or wild but something to get to ~450-475rwhp.
thoughts and/or suggestions?

one can hope. i just realize that its better to swap the ls1 pulleys over to the lq4 block. makes sense after looking at some pics of whats on teh lq4. can i get away with using the ls1 injectors with the TSP 228R or best to upgrade to say L67/GTP injectors?

my installer said aside from the TSP 228R to possibly also look into the Lunati Voodoo cam and suggested something with a high 23x/23x and lift 59x/600. so i went to their website and the closest one i found from what he said was the "Voodoo Hyd Roller Cam - LS1 LS2 282/288" which says:
Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 282/288
Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 232/238
Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .599"/.601"
LSA/ICL: 113/109
Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd
RPM Range: 2400-7000
thoughts? would i need to replace the valvesprings every 20k or so due to the .601 lift? he had a car that has a voodoo cam in it and it sounded nasty awesome over the 228R i seen on youtube.
