Did anyone every figure anything out on these? I know people had issues with russell is there another manufacturer out there?

Yes, there is a new version out that replaces the style with the plastic clips. Here are the Russell part #s
5/16 to -6 644113 Black, 644110 Blue.
3/8 to -6 644123 Black, 644120 Blue.
