Default L92 Crankshaft Dowell Pin?

I have an L92 motor and a 6l80E transmission from salvage yards. There was not a Dowell pin in the crankshaft for the transmission flex plate. There is a hole in the flexplate that could be for one. Question is, is there supposed to be dowell pin when using a flex plate or just use the 6 bolts to hold the flex plate on?

Default Late info

Sorry, a little late, and without a 100% firm answer.
But I recently landed an '08 L92 and it too has NO dowel pin in the crank. But yes, you'd expect one.
The thing is, this motor of mine is in less than pristine condition, bad wreck, damaged parts, and flexplate is MIA so who knows. But I don't think someone would or could, easily yank out the dowel pin, and for what purpose.

09 L92 from a Denali in my 73 Camaro. No dowell pin. Just lined up the bolt holes and dowell pin hole and bolted the flywheel on. 2000 miles no problems.
