Default ls1 ws6 too ls1 camaro z28 engine swap help/info

so i have a wreaked ws6 trans am....but the engine and trany are fine. and i want to putt the ls1 into the camaro because, the ls1 from the ws6 has around 500 HP! soo you can see why i want too do that. the question is. how hard would that be to do myself or just pay for it? please reply. thanks!

If the Camaro is already a LS1 car.. it shouldn't take more than a weekend to do... Just disconnect everything and drop the K-Member on both, and swap the engine over.

If you search for LS1 engine removal thread on this forum and others... you will find many write ups. Also, many of of the LS1 books have step by step write up (chevy LS1/LS6 V-8s, by Will Handzel has a write up.)

cool yeah my camaro is an ls1 car. so i'll have to look up some threads. thanks!

one more thing. can you pull the motor from the top? or dose it need to be taken out from the bottom?

It can be taken out from the top although taking it out from the bottom is highly recommended and much easier.

yeah i know that it's better to take it out from the bottom. but i don't have a shop..soo back to my point. should i do it myself or pay for it? although my friends dad made a good sugestion. the T56 from my ws6 is worth more than the swap would cost, he sed mabey i could trade the T56 for the swaps cost. and that would be awsome! i would just need to find the right place. but sence both cars have an ls1, it makes sence that it wouldn't be too hard of a swap. RIGHT??
