Dash Harness grab?

Dash Harness grab?
(I searched and did not find a conclusive answer - and i need to know before the parts disappear)
I yanked an LQ4 and 4L80 over the weekend from a friends old van.
I took the entire engine harness, ECU and fusebox.
I left the dash harness due to the difficulty of removal.
I'd like to (initially at least) drop the entire combo and wiring into a G body and get it fired up.
I'm sure the VATS system would need to see some kind of key signal though, correct?
What should I do? Bypass it somehow electrically? I'd like to get it running, wont tune til later so I wont be able to get rid of it that way yet.
Do I need the cylinder/key? Chop the huge plug that goes to the fuse box and save only xxxx wires that would go to the key cyl?
Again, I'm sure the data is here but I imagine the van shell will be hitting the scrap yard quick, so I have limited time to go back and get whatever parts that might be recommended
Thank you all in advance!
