Exhaust is pretty close to fuel tank
I swapped a 95 caprice plastic tank into a 75 a body. The exhaust system is pretty close where it comes over the axle. Probably about 1/2 inch of clearance. I wrapped the exhaust pipe with header wrap but am uncomfortable about this. What do you guys think? Do I need to put this car on a trailer and take it to the exhaust shop?

1990's Ford Thunderbirds use nylon fuel tanks mounted UNDER the driveshaft and OVER the exhaust - totally safe. Hahahaha. Mine does have factory heat shields between the tank and exhaust but I'm not sure the clearance. I'm sure the air gap is more than half an inch in most areas but not as big as you may think.
My Trans Am has a nylon fuel tank and it sits right above the cross flow muffler with a heat shield. Again, I'm not sure of the clearance but it can't be more than a couple of inches.
