Default CMP (Cam Position Sensor) Connector

I thought I'd put this up here to help anyone who will run into the same issue when modifying their harness. This relates to the 1999 Camaro LS1 harness, not sure about others.

In this harness, the factory used an extension harness for the CMP. I guess early plans were to have the sensor at the front of the engine, but it was moved to the rear. Hence the extension.

So I removed it and simply ran the remaining connection out the back of the harness for the CMP.

Problem is, the connector isn't the same as the sensor.

You will need to cut the connector from the main harness and replace it with the connector from the factory extension. Pretty easy as the wires re color coded.

I discovered this on the final assembly of the harness into the car. Of course.....
