Default modifying a stock PS line

I want to modify a stock 2002 Vette PS line and add a stock 70 Camaro PS line tube/fitting (at the pump). Can I merely cut off the GM metric fitting and double flare the end with the inverted flare nut?

Basically want confirmation. My local farm and tractor cain't do it.

thanks,
Jim

I think you have it backwards but yes, that works.
I used a stock metric O ring line that came with the engine. Cut the steering box end off. Put the inverted flair fitting from the old line on it, double flaired it, worked fine.

Can you post some pics of this when you're done. I would like to see how you route the hose also. Thanks

you might be able to unscrew the fitting that the hose connects to on the back of the ps reservoir and replace it with the one from the old ps reservoir. that's what I did on my nova...worked great and no hose splicing, I used the original nova hose

on the truck and old nova ps pump reservoirs it is just a threaded o-ring fitting

I doubt this would be useful for me as I am using VEtte FEAD and you need a standoff nut at the pump to clear the pulley.

The swapping of the nuts after trimming the OEM Vette hose might work. Not my first choice though. Hopefully I can get pics this weekend.
