Default 4l80e bell housing mods for a foxbody

I "finished" my turbo lm7 swap into my 84 fox, but the 4l60e was toast from the start so I picked up a 2000 4l80e. I believe I have everything worked out for the swap except my question below.

The big tabs on the side of the bell housing, do they need to be removed, or does it just make it easier? Same goes for the corners of the bell housing where it looks like the dust shield mounts.

Thanks in advance.

Never touched anything on my 4l80e. Had to bang the tunnel where the harness attaches that's it.
